These pretty vintage hankie invitations are the perfect way to set the stage for your next bridal shower or shabby chic birthday party.
One of our favorite parts of the vintage shabby chic party we threw for our mom was making these vintage hankie invitations. They were so simple and inexpensive to make. Here’s a quick tutorial:

- Purchase reproduction handkerchiefs. We found these on Amazon.
- Iron the hankies and let cool.
- Print the invitation details on a sheet of paper and trim to make sure it will all fit on the hankie. It took us several tries before we could get the wording and font size correct.
- Print the invitation details on iron-on transfer paper. Remember to reverse the image so it will read correctly on the hankie after it is ironed on.
- Trim the iron-on paper then iron it on the hankie following the directions listed on the transfer paper.
- Let them cool completely before folding and placing in envelopes for mailing. We included a piece of tissue paper to help protect them in the envelopes.
And that’s all there is to it! We used envelopes we already had so the total cost for 25 invitations came to around $43. Not bad for something that made a big impact and helped set the stage for this pretty party!
